25 young people die every day on the European roads. All victims are more than 25 000 per year. Our main aim is to contribute towards saving those people by sending positive messages and initiatives.
From 22 to 30 September “Open Youth” carried out its project “Youth and Road Safety II”, supported by EU “Youth in Action” programme and Toyota. With it we transferred the most modern road safety prectices from Europe to Bulgaria. For the project we brought two driving simulators from Belgium. The first one is a cart with a computer, which is programmes to slow the machines reactions to the driver’s commands by 1 second, simulating slower reaction after alchohol consumption. The second one is a read Toyota Corolls, which also has a computer and simulates driving in extreme conditions on the road. After the end of the simulation, an instructor explains to the driven what would have happened in the same situation on the road after alchohol consumption.
