The organization participated in the nominations with three of its flagship initiatives: "Drive responsibly", "Choose your way" and "European Night Without Accident". It was the only entity participating with more than one initiative which is why it received the special award for exceptional activity in the prevension of road related risks.

The ceremony of the Annual Road Safety Awards in Bulgaria took place for first time in Sheraton Hotel on November 30th, 2011. It was organized by the "Annual Road Safety Awards" foundation.
