On October 20, 2012 "Open Youth" held for fifth consecutive year an event as part of the annual European campaign "European Night Without Accident." The aim was to focus public attention on road safety problems and to encourage young people not to combine alcohol/drugs and driving.

Volunteers aged 18 to 29 years were at the entrances of "Master" club in Vidin in order to motivate drivers to not drink if they have to drive after the party. The ones, that joined the initiative, wore bracelets and when leaving the club could voluntarily pass alcohol/drug test to prove that kept their promise not to drink.
23 people agreed to participate in the initiative. 22 of them came back for the test when exiting the party. The test for alcohol concentration in their blood showed that only 16 did not consume alcohol beverages (7 women and 9 men). For the others (1 woman and 5 men) the test reported the presence of alcohol above the 0.5 ppm limit. The volunteers gave small gifts to the ones that kept their promise. The rest were asked to leave their cars in a parking lot or to allow friends who have consumed alcohol to drive.
The concept of the campaign was again built on the voluntary will and free choice of young people - choice to have fun, but to stay alive. "European Night Without Accident 'is performed for the first time in Belgium in 1995. Since 2003, the initiative is supported by the European Commission. This year's campaign was held in all 27 countries of the European Union. In Bulgaria, "European Night Without Accident" is implemented since 2008 in Vidin as a pilot city.
