We will rollover at 360 degrees your understanding about road safety!

… and will certify the level of your eco-driving skills.

On 12th of August at 16 o’clock in from of the National Palace of Culture “Open Youth” will kick off a pilot action in the framework of “LIVES” project (Local Innovative adVentures to Ensure quality in youth road Safety promotion), which boosts efforts of NGOs from a number of East European EU member states in road safety promotion. The event will be part of the Youth exhibition, organized by the National Centre “European Youth Programmes and Initiatives” in the framework of the International Day of Youth 2013.
During the pilot actions for the first, but certainly not for last, time in Bulgaria every participant will be able to:
1.    Check if he/she can drive eco-friendly and how much money he/she can save, if he/she learn to, for which a certificate with each one’s personal achievements will be issued.
2.    Understand the huge importance of ecological, or in fact safe, driving, by getting into a rollover simulator, which is a real size car rolling at 360 degrees.
3.    Contribute to the road safety in Bulgaria by answering seven closed questions, for which he/she will receive a personal alcotest for self-control.
LIVES addresses the issue of road safety in countries, generally lagging behind in reaching set European targets such as Poland (102), Bulgaria (102), Romania (111), and to a less extent Slovenia (68) and Hungary (74) that have a road deaths rate per population by far above the EU average of 61 deaths per million population in 2010 (source: CARE database and national data). It is co-funded by the European Union through the "Youth in Action" programme, Action 4.4.
