From 26 to 28 March 2014 "Open Youth" and the "Traffic police" department, General Directorate "National Police" of the Ministry of Interior held a three-day "Strategic enforcement" training course with a focus on road safety audit and the use of technical devices. The training involved 50 participants - employees from the General Directorate and the heads of the regional "Traffic police" departments. During the training the participants broadened their knowledge on European and Bulgarian legislation on road safety audit and inspection, road safety management, road networks and high-risk sections - areas with a concentration of accidents. Lecturers in training were Mr. Daniel Vankov, Chairman of "Open Youth" and Prof. Rumen Milanov, Department "Roads", University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy. The training is part of the “Road safety in South East European regions” (ROSEE) project, which is supported by the European Union Southeast Europe Transnational Cooperation Programme. Its aim is to improve coordination in the planning and operation of prime and secondary road networks to increase the level of safety of traffic and accessibility of the road network. |
