National program for capacity building to enhance road safety

On August 26, 2013 "Open Youth" officially launched its National program for capacity building to enhance road safety with its presentation to forty specialists and experts in the field of road safety, participating in the "Speed management" course , covering Sofia city, Sofia region, Kyustendil, Blagoevgrad, Pernik, Vratsa, Montana and Vidin districts, representing national, regional and municipal authorities, police and NGOs.

It consists of two components:
1. Establishment of a Center for prevention of the risky behavior on the road, which possesses most advanced technologies for risk prevention.
2. Building local capacity for quality design of messages in the field of road safety and their transfer to the democratically elected institutions at local, regional and national level under the project "Road Safety Advocates", supported by the NC "EYPI" within the European Union "Youth in Action" program.
The aim of the programme is to promote cooperation between all entities, interested in the issue on local level, and to create basis for establishment of prevention centers outside the Capital. The condition to participate is to register a team on the "Road Safety Advocates" project website – http://rsa.open-youth.org. The last will support during one year the participating teams and the criteria will be the generated support in Facebook. In the end of the year the maximum a team can win is:
1.    Vouchers for 3000 BNG;
2.    Invitations to the first “Youth Road Safety Summit” in Bulgaria;
3.    Packs of information and communication materials, worth 600 BGN;
4.    A pair of alcovision goggles;
5.    Packs of information and communication materials, containing 4 businesscard holders, 10 alcotests, 10 silicon bracelets, 10 reflective bracelets, 10 pens, 10 puzzles, 10 badges, 10 magnets and 20 reflectors.
A total of 137 different prizes will be distributed on different project stages during this year to different teams from all over the country.
