On 21 May at 4:00 p.m. in the Youth Theatre “Nikolay Binev” Sofia, “Open Youth” association will present a new tool in the road safety field as part of its best practice projects, supported by the “Youth in Action” program of the European Union.

A specially developed weight calculator will show to everyone how heavy his/her body is during a car crash with a certain speed (50, 90 or 130 km/h). For example, a person who weighs 60 kilos will weigh approximately two tons during a crash at a speed of 50 km/h. One can imagine what will happen if the speed is higher! The “Open Youth” association will also demonstrate the whole spectrum of alco- and druggoggles, which simulate vision under influence and what the effect is on people’s abilities. Other interesting simulations, related to the road risks prevention will be shown, too.
The annual meeting of the National Centre “European Youth Programs and Initiatives” is organized in relation to the 2011 projects evaluation, funded by the “Youth in Action” program. The official opening is at 5.30 p.m. in the foyer of the Youth Theatre “Nikolay Binev”, Sofia.
