23% of the young people believe that carrying out information and preventive campaigns is the most effective measure to reduce the number of deaths on the Bulgarian roads in the short term. 19% believe the same, looking at the long-term perspective. 37% of the young people think that preventive campaigns are the most effective measure to raise awareness among the road users. These are results from the survey, carried out between 06th and 19th of October 2013 as part of the “Safe and economical – drive eco-LOGICAL!” campaign. 766 young people from Blagoevgrad, Kyustendil, Vratsa, Vidin, Shumen, Dobrich and Varna took part in it. 89% of them underlined that the campaign may influence positively and change drivers’ behavior, giving it a score of 5 (72%) and 4 (18%) where 0 is negative and 5 is positive. The campaign is part of “LIVES” project (Local Innovative adVentures to Ensure quality in youth road Safety promotion), which boosts efforts of NGOs from a number of East European EU member states in road safety promotion. The project is co-funded by the European Union through the "Youth in Action" programme, Action 4.4. Here is the whole picture:
