From 17th to 21th of June, 2013 “Open Youth” and the "Traffic Police" department, Chief Directorate "National Police" of Ministry of Interior, together with the regional "Traffic Police" departments of the Police directorates in Varna, Shumen, Ruse, Veliko Tarnovo and Pleven, held the second edition fo the joint campaign under the motto "Drive responsibly and courteously".

A total of 79 policemen worked together with the “Open Youth” volunteers for the implementation of the initiative. 783 vehicles were checked and 103 violations of the traffic regulations or 13% were recorded.
The campaign consisted of a series of specialized police operations under the “broader control” method in combination with positive intervention of "Open Youth" representatives towards encouraging responsible driving and reduction of road aggression at the beginning of the active summer season. Despite the registered violations, most of the drivers were precise and accepted with a smile the campaign positive message, together with an antistress-ball and the 10 commandments for tolerant driving, which they received from the young people. The last appealed the drivers to be more responsible, smiling and tolerant on the road so that they can reach safely their final destination.
The campaign "Drive responsibly and courteously" is part of the international project AVENUE, supported by DG "Mobility and Transport" of the European Commission and of the overall program "Drive responsibly" of "Open Youth".
